Keep it. It’s on the King

A colleague at work brought my attention to this clever marketing ploy by Burger King. Shout out to sogoodblog and ted.me for these.

RJDJ - iPhone

RjDj enables music to react with the environment and turns the sounds we typically come across in a normal day into a rich orchestra of life,” continues Stefan Glaenzer, investor at RjDj. “It effectively builds a bridge between the real world and the electronic world of music – turning what has traditionally been passive sound into an engaging, interactive and highly creative experience. It also has the potential to make you feel like you have taken a large amount of hardcore drugs but they will not be using it at the priory any time soon....... I don't think!

Click here to see the movie

Here to download the app and find out more about it

Or here to have a look at other RJDJ scenes

Shout out to Cpluv where I found this.

The big em.... not so bad city

It has been a while since my last post and I am finally starting to feel settled in the cauldron that is London. After spending the first month in Kensington I have now headed further north and am now living in Islington, initial impressions are that it's a really cool place with loads of atmosphere so I am looking forward to exploring it. I am loving work and everyone is very nice and helping me settle, consequentially I am starting to feel more at home here already. Anyway enough soppy shite and lets have a look at some lovely stuff. Obviously I have been saving links like the proverbial squirrel before winter but I thought I should be more focused and go down a photography theme for this post rather than vomit a huge amount of links out. Some of these are dated but still worth a look so get clicking and enjoy.

And I'm back!

Well, I am back and in one piece (much to my parents relief!) My blog will be going quiet for a couple of months as I have just started my new job and moved to a new city so need to get my head round it all! Anyway, keep checking back and I am sure I will have something either beautiful or hideously awful for you to have a look at soon. I will also be updating my portfolio when I get a moment and my trip blog as and when the delayed postcards arrive. I find myself wrestling on occasion with my emotions regarding the belated postcards, the British part of my brain is appalled and out-raged that they have not arrived yet whereas the thrifty Geordie part of my head doesn't care as they only cost 30p on average to post and they can take as long as they want. Finally a nod to the picture above, yes we are posing but as far as I am concerned if you can't pose on a pan-european motorbike trip then when can you....

Please don't answer that Leslie Grantham.

Two muppets on motorbikes

Right, I will be away for a while travelling. I am embarking on a four-week pan-European trek covering six countries over 4 weeks. Three years in the planning, I am doing this on a motorbike with my best mate Adam. You can track my progress here on my adventure website which was very kindly put together for me by James Mills and involves my mates scanning in the postcards I send them from various destinations (Thanks Ali!) This trip marks the end of my employment at FPP and I would just like to say at this point thanks to all the guys there, I had a brilliant time and I will definately keep in touch. Upon my return I will be making the big move to London for a new opportunity at AKQA which I am very excited about. So, if you want follow me here and I will be back posting at the end of the month!

BMW: GINA Light Visionary Model

Now I know in some quarters it is suggested that when you buy a BMW you become a completely selfish egotistical idiot but all I can think when I see this is "I want one, I want one, I want one". Really interesting idea, i just wonder how long it will be before (if ever) this technology will be readily available to us 'minions'.

Navi - World of Timers

Navi is (and I quote)... "a new generation interactive media studio based in Istanbul, Turkey". They have created this brilliant tool in which you can declare your thoughts, prophecies, goals, wills etc to the world and set up a timer to signal your intent. Clever, inventive and beautifully executed!

Nike: Director Cut

Extended version of the original 'Nike: Take it to the next level' advert. Move insight, more footage and ultimately more jealousy on my part. Guy Richie has personally overseen this cut and all of his styling tricks are still there. Really nicely shot.

Axe Effect: Laser

A really cool viral video to promote Axe Laser. I don't know if those lights are real but i really really want one!

Burger King: Whopper Freakout

Campaign for Burger King which has done well for itself at the Cannes Cyber Lions awards. Interesting concept where they pretend the Whopper has been discontinued and then film the customers reactions. Personally I don't know whether after watching this I feel that the Whopper is 'America's favorite burger' or just that too many people eat too much fast food! Whatever your opinion more details can be found here, right, im off out for a burger now.
